You can see one of the world’s greatest medieval Artists in the Orb. The Orb is an elliptical treasure-house of stained glass, showcasing five examples of some of world’s most important medieval art. Described as England’s equivalent to the Sistine Chapel, the stained glass is intimately lit to reveal the craftsmanship and epic stories that make up York Minster’s Great East Window. Dynamic new interactive galleries will open alongside the Orb, exploring the stories and people from both the past and present.
Lastly, take an inspirational journey into the redesigned underground chambers of the vast Undercroft and Treasury, revealing York Minster’s past, present and future. Dynamic, new interactive displays will reveal the significance behind York Minster’s history and its most treasured artefacts as never before.
