Working Carriage Museum
Discover one of the finest collections of original horse-drawn vehicles and equipment in Britain. See a Stage Coach, Royal Mail Coach and numerous other private commercial vehicles.
All the vehicles have worked regularly in films and TV, such as Sons and Lovers, The Mallen Streak, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Bargain Hunt, Peak Practice and many more.
This unique collection of vehicles and accessories was started by Mr William Smith, who was very particular about the authenticity and impeccable condition of each carriage. This tradition is now continued by his daughter Caroline Dale-Leech, who has spent her life with horses and driving.
This museum is a fascinating place to visit.
