Visit this spectacular Elizabethan house where the Batman movie ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ was filmed. This 16th century building is situated five miles north of Gotham, Nottinghamshire where Gotham City got its name.
Stroll around the period rooms and enjoy a visual interpretation of the Regency Salon and learn about the time Lady Jane Middleton was in residence, and then witness the stunning architecture of the Great Hall.
You could also take a daily guided tour and head to the kitchens and enjoy the sounds, sight and smells of an authentic working Tudor kitchen, where you will also see original beehive ovens and a charcoal stove. The guide will also take you up a small spiral staircase to the top of this beautiful building where you will see wonderful panoramic views of the city.

The tours look at the house from different angles. You will learn all about the wealth and grandeur of the upper house and all about what went on behind the scenes.
After an interesting tour of the house, you could take a stroll through the park or visit the formal gardens which provide a perfect spot to sit and relax. There is also the oldest cast iron glasshouse in Europe on site which you could visit.
There is also a small café in the park.
