The Royal Cornwall Museum has a wide range of collections to see from an unwrapped Egyptian mummy to classical Greek and Roman objects. You’ll also find wonderful examples of minerals which include the largest specimen of liroconite ever found and you’ll see a large gold nugget. This museum also holds wonderful collections of Cornish and European archaeology and social history, as well as world cultures. And there is a fine collection of art and old master drawings you can feast your eyes on too.

The museum offers many family events and talks which you could participate in. You’ll also have the chance to take part in the Giant Museum Trail where you will discover the hidden treasures of the museum. And younger children can explore objects in a fun and exciting way which will stimulate their imagination and creativity. Children can also become a special mouse detective by discovering mystery objects as they stroll through the museum, or they can hire a backpack with a helmet and binoculars and become an adventurer. There is so much to do here you and your family won’t find time to be bored!
