The Old Sunday School
The Silk Heritage Centre has been renamed The Old Sunday School.
Displays in the Old Sunday School illustrate how Macclesfield developed and grew from a market town into an important player in the silk industry. It also shows the range of mills that thrived in the town.
Their new gallery space hosts exhibitions from local art groups and charities. Plus a range of drop-in activities take place throughout the year for children and families.
A newly re-furbished cafe ‘The Tea Kitchen’ on site is the perfect spot to enjoy hot drinks, home-made cakes and freshly prepared food.
Why not visit Makers Place which is also located at The Old Sunday School? Makers Place supports local artists and makers. See them in action in their studios where you can browse and buy unique items. You can even take part in workshops.
