RSPB Freiston Shore
Enjoy a relaxing circular walk through nature trails surrounded by wet grassland. Head to the hide, the sea-watching shelter or the wetland viewing platform to see thousands of birds at high tide on the salt water lagoon. You will marvel at their beauty. Walk to the saltmarsh and watch birds of prey flying and hunting. It is a spectacular sight. There is also a reservoir viewing screen where you can see the many species of birds up close.
At Freiston Shore you will see yellowhammers and skylarks throughout the year, but in Spring look out for the migrant Yellow Wagtails and Wheatears returning from their wintering grounds in Africa. You can also watch lapwings doing an amazing flying display in the air.
In Summer get to watch many nesting wading birds such as Avocets and Ringed Plovers. In Winter, you will be amazed how many Brent Geese congregate at the shore alongside various ducks such as wigeons, pintails and teals.
