Visit this graceful country house that epitomises the Georgian ‘Age of Elegance and see beautiful restored interior, a wonderful collection of furniture, unique paintings and precious artefacts.
Take an informative tour around the house and be in awe with the splendid rooms laid out as they were in the 1700s and see the works of Chippendale and Robert Adam. You will also see spectacular tapestries in the Tapestry Room. Please note, access to the house is by guided tour only, which you can book at the Entrance Pavilion.
Stroll around 25-acres of award-winning gardens with one of Europe’s longest double herbaceous borders and see beautiful shrubs and plants, including the national collection of dogwoods. Enjoy the tranquillity of Sylvia’s Garden and explore the exciting Tropical Garden.
Children can spend hours in the thoughtfully designed adventure garden with a miniature railway, island fort, boating and water play.
There is also an excellent café on site where you can enjoy high-quality refreshments, or you can take a picnic with you as there is a lovely picnic area in the gardens.
Opening Times: The hall and garden is open from April to September, but the hall is closed when it has private functions. The gates open at 11am and last admission is 5pm
