Bring wellies and definitely don’t forget the camera when you visit Newark Park. They are a quirky Tudor hunting lodge with a huge estate and some very colourful resident peacocks who think they own the place!

Discover their Tudor bedroom stuffed with costumes where you can dress up as a prince, a knight, a medieval princess or a Victorian servant. For children of all ages they have hunts around the house to find everything from golden dragons to a Woolly Mammoth’s tooth.

They also have a cryptic quiz to get your brains working. If you want to get outdoors to enjoy the fantastic far reaching views across the Cotswold Hills that you can see from the house then try geocaching. You can rent a GPS device from reception or bring your own and hunt for camouflaged boxes filled with pirate coins, stickers and other treasures hidden in hollow trees, under fallen leaves and behind old stone walls.

They have croquet, boules and giant chess for you to play with on the lawn, it’s great fun. Hot food and drink are available whenever they are open and you can take anything you buy into the house and lounge beside the wood burning stove.

They welcome dogs to the estate and gardens, but do have some livestock to be aware of. Pushchairs can access the gardens and woodland on woodchip paths. They run events throughout the year please take a look at their website below to see what’s on.
