Museum of the Manchester Regiment
The Museum of the Manchester Regiment is currently closed whilst the redevelopment of the Town Hall is taking place.
Visit this museum and follow the story of the Manchester Regiment soldiers over a period of two hundred years from 1756 to 1958.
Listen to unique and moving stories of the soldiers and look at objects some of the soldiers had left behind, including uniforms, equipment and weapons. You will also see over 1,800 medals and 6 Victorian Cross groups as well as many souvenirs the soldiers had acquired from around the world.
There are also lots of family-friendly interactive exhibits that bring the stories of this regiment alive. You’ll definitely enjoy a visit at this wonderful museum located in Ashton-under-Lyne’s Victorian town hall.
Opening Times: Tuesday to Friday, 10am – 4pm, Saturday 10am – 1pm. Closed Sunday and Monday.
