Mother Shipton's Cave
Visit England’s oldest visitor attraction! Millions of visitors from all over the world have been enchanted by the Park’s natural beauty, mesmerised by the Petrifying Well and enthralled by Mother Shipton’s birthplace and her amazing story. Free seasonal children’s quiz is set amongst the 12 acres of parkland in Knaresborough, running parallel to the popular River Nidd. Be part of the magic yourself by making a wish in our world famous Wishing Well, as well as enjoying 4 scenic picnic areas, our museum, tea rooms and 2 adventure playgrounds. Dogs are welcome throughout the estate.

Facilities: Mother Shipton’s Cave and The Petrifying Well are natural geological phenomenons and consequently have restricted access. A visit will involve negotiating a number of steps. There is no wheelchair access. Pushchairs may have to be carried in places.
Opening Times: February- Weekends only 10am-4.30pm.
March- Weekends only 10am-5.30pm.
1st April-26th October- Everyday 10am-5.30pm.
27th October-31st October- 10am-4.30pm.
