Lichfield Heritgate Centre
Discover Lichfield`s fascinating social history over the last 150 years at this heritage centre, which has over 6,000 photographs and negatives, many newspapers, reports, leaflets and other interesting memorabilia from the past.
In the muniment room, you can see the city’s ancient Charters. The earliest being Queen Mary`s Charter of 1553 and several others over the centuries, right up to Elizabeth II.
The guild book of St Mary`s Guild (1387-1680) is the oldest document exhibited.
You can also climb the steps within the spire of St Mary’s Church, which is in the heart of the city.
