This impressive Tudor manor, set in charming grounds, is surrounded by fields and winding country roads. It has often been said that to see Cheshire you must see Gawsworth Hall and that is certainly true.
When visiting the hall, take a tour of the rooms and learn about its history first hand. The hall holds many events, including classic car rallies, craft and gift fairs and much more. It also has an open air theatre and in summer there are a vast range of events that take place here.
On the grounds you will find the Fitton family chapel, licensed in 1365 and is still used today by the family. The original house was rebuilt in 1480, in 1701 and in 1712, after being broadly remodelled.
The manor witnessed a famous duel – Lord Mohun and the Duke of Hamilton fought over the ownership of the estates – both dualists died.
