Elvaston Castle Country Park
Walk around 200 acres of parkland, woodland and formal gardens and discover Golden Gates, an Old English Garden and a castle courtyard. Feast your eyes on enchanting rockwork structures, a topiary and tree-lined avenues.
In the heart of the estate, you’ll also see Elvaston Castle which is not open to the public, but nonetheless a spectacular sight to witness.
You could also take a relaxing lake-side walk and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. And if you are interested in architecture, the Moorish Temple and Boathouse are worth seeing as they have special architectural and historical interest.
The park is open all year round making it a great place to walk, cycle, horse ride, bird watch, fly a kite and in the summer have a picnic.
Opening Times: Opening hours in the summer are 9am to 8pm and in the winter 9am to 5pm.
Costs: Entrance to the park is free.
