Eden Camp Modern History Theme Museum
Housed in the buildings and grounds of an original World War Two Prisoner of War Camp, a visit to Eden Camp will transport you back to experience life on both the Home Front and Front Line during World War Two. Each of the 26 display and exhibition huts portray a different aspect of life during the 1940’s. Life size scenes and scenarios are brought to life with the use of sound, light and smell effects. Explore the inside of a U- Boat, a First World War trench, a terraced street undergoing an air raid, see the effects of rationing in the Street and War and witness the Great Escape taking place. Also find out what it was like to be a Prisoner of War, and view the ingenious toys and craft items that the Italian and German Prisoners who were held at Eden Camp made to pass their time.
