Dartmoor Zoo is a unique family owned zoo set in 33 acres of beautiful woodland park with fantastic views across the Devon countryside.
With over 200 animals, kids’ activities, public talks and presentations and large restaurant serving freshly prepared food, Dartmoor Zoo is an ideal spot to spend a day in the beautiful South Hams of Devon.
Immerse yourself in a great day out; see the tigers feed, hear the wolves howl and feel the snakes wriggle through your fingers in Close Encounters. Keep your eyes peeled around the park to see the many species that live in the zoo’s natural wild spaces including mice and voles, newts and frogs and over 50 species of British birds. If you’re lucky, you might even spot one of our families of wild stoats out on the hunt.
Make your visit extra special before you arrive and check out their website to see the fantastic range of animal experience days they offer including Big Cat Keeper for a Day meet the Tigers. You’ll get behind the scenes and as close to their impressive predators as their keepers do for a day you’ll never forget.
Facilities: Whilst everywhere in the park is accessible to wheelchair users, some of the more rugged areas can be a bit of a challenge for some. See the web site to book one of our mobility scooters in advance.
Opening Times: Open throughout the year (except Christmas Day) from 10am, closing at 6pm in the summer and 4pm in the winter.
Costs: See their web site for up-to-date ticket prices and membership options. As a member you’ll get year-round admission plus discounts on events and experience days. Kids under five go free.
