Take a pleasant walk around an 80-acre picturesque park full of magnificent poplar trees, colourful bedding displays, roses in full bloom, herbaceous border plants and a wild field meadow. See the largest collection of hydrangea in Britain and the third largest in the world, and then visit the beautiful butterfly garden.
You could even take a stroll along the river Derwent which flows through the park and if the sun is shining, why not take a picnic with you and relax in the wonderful tranquil settings. The park also hosts a free open air concert at the end of every summer with thousands of music lovers enjoying an evening of classical music. The evening ends with a spectacular display of fireworks dancing to the tune of Land of Hope and Glory.
Darley Park with its football pitches, cycle routes and children’s playground area makes an ideal day out for the family, and it is only a short distance from a small historical village, Darley Abbey.
