Cogges Manor House
Take a stroll through this quaint 13th century manor house and be fascinated with all that you see. Enjoy the period furniture in the dining room and then sit in the parlour room and relax while you read a magazine or book. You can also play board games there and children can dress up in lots of different costumes.
Children can also go to the adventure playground near the river and moat, while the under 5s can play in a soft-play indoor area in the stables. Ask for a swingball and a frisbee at reception if you fancy being energetic, and in summer you can play croquet on the mowed lawns.
Visit the farmyard and feed the friendly goats and then wander over to the two little pigs in the pig pen. You will also see sheep, small ponies, chickens, ducks and guinea pigs on the farm. Afterwards take a stroll around the 15 acres of beautiful walled garden that has an orchard with many varieties of fruit trees.
You can also visit the Victorian style kitchen where cooking demonstrations take place at the weekends and bank holidays.
On Friday morning at 11am, you can take part in a guided walk and learn all about the site with its 1,000 years of history.
Opening Times: The ground floor of the manor house is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10.30am to 5pm. Last entry is at 4.30pm.
