Bishops Palace and Gardens
This stunning medieval palace has been home to the bishops of Bath and Wells for over 800 years.
See a breath-taking moat, with world-famous resident swans who ring a bell when they want food! Afterwards cross a flagstone drawbridge and walk under the portcullis and experience a hidden gem in the heart of the city of Wells. Guided tours are also available.
There are 14 acres of gardens to explore, including the beautiful well pools from which the city takes its name. Families can also experience community garden activity days, historic re-enactment, concerts, talks, family theatre, workshops and demonstrations.
On site is a gift shop and a café with the best views in Wells!
Opening Times: Summer Opening 10am-6pm (March – September), Winter Opening 10am-4pm ( October to 28 March). Closed Christmas Eve- 7 Jan.
