Birmingham Botanical Gardens
Just one mile from Birmingham city centre, you’ll find this oasis of delightful gardens, peace and tranquility. These historic gardens offer a fascinating plant collection and excellent facilities for all the family to enjoy. Four stunning glasshouses filled with exotic plants take you from tropical rainforest to arid desert. Beyond, fifteen acres of beautiful landscaped gardens offer sunny lawns and collections of roses, alpines, perennials, rare trees and shrubs, ideal for picnics and exploring all year round.
The Japanese Gardens house the National Bonsai Collection. A fascinating programme of events offers flower shows, family fun days, and open-air theatre and music throughout the summer. Attractions also include a children’s playground and discovery garden, an art gallery, tearooms, and a shop, which sells a wide range of quality gifts and plants.
Facilities: Free parking for visitors – remember to register your number plate in reception. The gardens have wheelchair-friendly paths, a disabled toilet and ramps for easy access.
There is a cafe – Pavillion Team Rooms – an art gallery, a shop, and toilet facilities.
Opening Times: The gardens are open every day, except Christmas Day and Boxing Day, from 10.00 am.
October to March: Doors close at 5.00 pm
Christmas Eve: Doors close at 3.00pm
April to 31 September: Doors close at 6.00pm weekdays and 7.00pm weekends
