Discover one of Cheshire’s best kept secrets, the Anson Engine Museum, and see one of the largest collections of machines in Europe.
This award-winning museum started out as a personal collection. Now, machinery such as the rare Griffin six-stroke engine, the 63 ton Ruston and Hornsby engine used at Ealing studios can be seen. You can also witness the Mirlees No.1, the oldest diesel engine in the UK.
This fascinating museum stands on Poynton’s old colliery, which is surrounded by beautiful countryside. A visit here makes an interesting day out for all of the family.
